To enhance students’ understanding of local agricultural activities and village culture, our students joined the experiential activity and guided tour organized by the Sai Wan Rehabilitation Program. Through the guided tour led by Prof. Hon-Ming LAM (Professor of the School of Life Sciences at the Chinese University of Hong Kong) and local  farmers, students learned about the history and the agricultural activities in Sai Wan area. After that, it was the highlight of the tour, experiencing the harvesting and threshing of rice.

Through experiencing farming lives first-hand, students realized that growing crop is never an easy task. The inspiring activities cultivated students’ value of cherishing food and appreciating the importance of agriculture.
